What you will do:
As a Construction Foreman, you will oversee daily on-site activities, ensuring that work progresses smoothly, meets quality standards, and adheres to safety protocols while supporting the overall project schedule.

Your Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of construction workers on-site under the supervision of a superintendent or senior superintendent. This includes the coordination of work done by subs (having a clear schedule of when and where everyone will work for max efficiency), as well as task delegation, progress monitoring, and deficiency correcting for all laborers.
- Ensures that tasks are carried out efficiently and according to the project plan. Assigning duties to workers, provides guidance and training, and oversees the use of tools and equipment.
- Monitors progress, ensures quality control, and helps maintain a productive and organized work environment, playing a key role in the successful and quality completion of construction projects, including identifying and reporting deficiencies and risks.
- They ensure that safety standards are met, resolve any issues that arise during the workday (miscalculations, material/resource problems, etc.), and maintain clear communication with the site superintendent and other management personnel.

What makes you a great fit:

- Certification of construction ability at a technical school such as BCIT
- 2- 5 years of hands-on experience in the ICI construction industry, with demonstrated expertise in specific trades or areas such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.

- Leadership and Team Collaboration: Your strong leadership abilities will allow you to supervise and coordinate the work of construction crews and subcontractors, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. You’re able to step in and lead when the superintendent is absent, earning the respect of the team on-site. Additionally, you excel in working collaboratively with other trades, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure the project goals are met.
- Construction Knowledge and Technical Proficiency: You bring a solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes specific to the project, and you’re confident in supervising various trades like carpentry, electrical, and plumbing. If there’s ever a need for clarification, you know when to ask for guidance. Your technical proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings allows you to provide clear, detailed instructions to laborers, ensuring the work aligns with project specifications.
- Project Management and Organization: You have a sharp ability to organize and prioritize tasks, materials, and resources effectively to keep projects on track. Understanding the sequencing of tasks is second nature to you, and you ensure that everything is ready before the next phase begins. Your organizational skills keep the site running smoothly and ensure that deadlines and milestones are consistently met.
- Safety and Risk Management: Safety is a top priority, and you inforce a safe working environment by adhering to and implementing safety regulations and protocols as outlined by the Health and Safety Officer (HSO). You are proactive in identifying potential risks and ensuring compliance to maintain a safe site for everyone involved.
- Communication and Client Relations: Your clear and effective communication ensures that instructions are understood and carried out efficiently on-site. You are comfortable managing client interactions, addressing concerns, and providing updates when required. Whether communicating with the team or stakeholders, your focus on quality control and client satisfaction is always evident.
