As our Activity Director, you will lead a collaborative team in the development and delivery of engaging programming for our residents. Your skill and creativity will encourage and inspire residents to participate in varied activities designed with their health and wellness as priority. **Your responsibilities include**: - Plan, organize, and execute engaging, meaningful recreation programs to meet the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents - Manage activity budgets and ensure resources are used effectively - Coordinate with vendors and entertainers for special events - Effectively manage staff and volunteers, providing coaching, training, and performance monitoring as needed - Collaborate with residents to tailor activities to their interests and abilities - Supporting residents’ autonomy and advocacy by promoting residents’ council and attending meetings as required - Ensuring the integration of all departments into programming for optimal service - Create and distribute a promotional newsletter and calendar of programs to engage residents and resident families **Qualifications**: - Post-secondary education with a degree/diploma in Recreational/Leisure/Activation, with a specialization in Gerontology or equivalent. - Education or experience working with the cognitively challenged is an asset - Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in a Retirement Community or Long Term Care Setting preferred. - Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be a team player. **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent Additional pay: - Bonus pay Schedule: - Day shift - Monday to Friday - Weekends as needed Work Location: In person
