Calgary, Canada Alcove Addiction Recovery for Women Full time

**Overview**
Alcove’s Addiction Recovery Center for women is currently looking for dynamic and experienced childcare professionals to fill the role of Educator/Lead Child Minder for children aged 3 months to 5 years. You will work closely with the moms of the children to provide guidance and instruction on how to support their child’s development. You will be responsible for leading a team of other child minders to set schedules, provide feedback, support and direction to ensure child minding staff are providing the best possible care. Responsible for the care and supervision of other childminders for up to 8 children (5&under).

Our child-minding program delivers early childhood educational programs that are designed to support a child’s social, physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Responsibilities are not limited to the following**:Providing protection to the children - ensure that the physical environment and daily practices of caregiving promote health, safety, and well-being of children in care**Build nurturing relationships with the children. Develop and maintain a responsive relationship with each child and with the children as a group. **Organize and create an environment for children’s active learning.**Ensure healthy snacks are provided Plan and provide daily learning opportunities, routines, and activities that promote positive child development. **Appropriately supervise children while always keeping them safe**

Oversee other child-minding staff to ensure that the program fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child **Manage day-to-day classroom activities, including scheduled routines, outings, play time.**

**Duties**
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
- Create and implement educational programs that align with early childhood education standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
- Assist in the development of social skills through group activities and play.
- Observe and document children's behavior and developmental milestones.

**Experience**
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is required.
- Strong understanding of classroom management and child development principles.
- Ability to educate children through engaging activities that stimulate learning.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.

**Qualifications**:

- Childcare Certification Level: I, II, and III is required
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Criminal Record Clearance, including Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check
- Two or more Years’ experience in a child care setting; — Prior Preschool teaching experience will be an added advantage
