**Description**:
Swim Instructors at Can Swim Academy play a vital role in providing high-quality, skill-driven, and inclusive swim classes to swimmers of all ages and abilities. Instructors are responsible for providing a safe, supportive learning environment in which swimmers can gain confidence, improve their technique, and develop a lifetime love of the water. Swim Instructors uphold the standards of the Swim for Life and Swim Patrol programs while representing Can Swim Academy's professional standards and commitment to excellence.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create, plan, and conduct high-quality, inclusive, safe, and engaging swimming lessons for people of all ages while adhering to Swim Patrol and the Swim for Life Program standards.
- Discuss program expectations, water safety, program information, and accident prevention with parents and participants.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and the pool area, such as the deck, the pool, and the changing room.
- Report to Deck Supervisor for follow-up of incidents/accidents.
- Encourage an welcoming, inclusive, and accessible aquatics environment.
- Complete administrative duties such as lesson plans, progress reports, worksheets, and attendance.
- Supervise all swimmers, ensuring safety of all individuals.
- Respond to emergency situations and perform First Aid.
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Maintain all certifications and skills throughout the contract.
- Staff must be proficient in National Lifeguard physical standards and rescue skills.

**Hourly Rate**:25$

**Experience**:

- Must be 15 years of age.
- Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor (LSSI) Certification.
- Current Lifesaving Society Lifesaving (LSI) and Emergency First Aid Instructor (EFAI) Certification.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification
- Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard (NL) Certification (Considered an Asset).
- Previous experience planning and implementing program plans (Considered an asset).

**Schedule**:
Shifts available:

- Monday-Thursday 4-7:30pm
- Saturday and Sunday 9-12:30pm

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 3 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
