Youth Wellness Coordinator

**The Position**
Reporting to the Wellness Centre Manager, the Youth Wellness Coordinator is a member of the Jeh Jeh Circle of Care interdisciplinary team. Utilizing a client
- and family-centred model, you will work with the Health and Social Development departments. Further, the position will provide ongoing care and support to selected individuals served by the Jeh Jeh Circle of Care. Additionally, you will work in a collaborative and culturally safe way to plan and implement appropriate wellness education and events with a particular focus on youth wellness.
- Work as part of the Jeh Jeh Circle of Care interdisciplinary primary health care team by attending regular meetings, providing services for youth identified with complex needs and/or health issues, and assisting in the early identification of youth service needs.
- Work intensively with individual clients identified by the Circle on mutually identified health or psychosocial goals.
- Develop, deliver and evaluate culturally relevant wellness promotion and education events and activities for shíshálh youth.
- Review and assist in the development and accessibility of culturally appropriate resources at shishalh Nation Health and Social Development.
- Develop, maintain and provide appropriate informational resources as required.
- Provide and maintain accurate wellness promotion reports, documents and files. Document Client information using Mustimuhw charting.
- Perform other related duties as required relative to Health and Wellness Promotion for youth.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the position, as assigned.
**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**:
- A certificate or degree in health or human services would be an asset.
- Experience in health service and services to youth.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary service partners and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Federal and Provincial Government policy regarding the First Nations Health Sector.
- Demonstrated ability to do presentations to groups/community.
- Extensive working knowledge of shishalh Nation resources and culture.
- Knowledge of the shíshálh language (shashishalhem) is an asset.
- Must be computer literate with Microsoft programs, Word, Excel, PPT and Outlook.
- Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Criminal Record Check required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
