Qc Technician

**Position Title**: QC Technician

**Summary**: The role involves operating QC lab equipment, adhering to safety and procedural regulations, and managing documentation for held product files while conducting various product tests and sensory reviews. Additionally, the position requires maintaining lab organization, overseeing chemical disposal, and assisting QC staff during absences, all while ensuring compliance with HACCP and reporting requirements.
**Essential Duties / Responsibilities**:
Capable of operating all QC lab equipment
Complies with all McCain QC procedures, safety policies, and regulations.
Record and Photograph foreign material from FI & Trim for both lines
Perform morning sensory review, including collection of water and potato samples
Manage held product files, including releasing held product and all documentation
Develop sampling plans for held product files
Schedule management reviews
Conduct several product tests (Yields, Mos Burger Odor Tests, Outgoing, etc.)
Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports for various stakeholders
HACCP Document Control
Complete all required documentation within WMS, Excel, and SPC
Micro testing on weekends
Help QC Staff for scheduled absences (Vacations, proficient testing and Training)
Maintain and dispose of chemicals in display lab
Sustain organization and cleanliness of display lab
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)
Previous Quality Control experience is required.
Experience with WMS, SAP, SPC and Excel
Ability to work on a rotating shift.
Strong mathematical skills.
Physically capable of performing all required duties including some lifting up to 42lbs.
Familiar with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.
Must have strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
Maintain good working relationship with all department.
Able to work with mínimal supervision.
Willing to learn Microbiology
Must have proven history of safe work habits.
Successful completion of a 90-day familiarization period.
Physical Requirements
Physically capable of performing all required duties including some lifting up to 40lbs.
