Job Summary
The Manager, Allied Health, is responsible and accountable for the management, budget, co-ordination and direction of all patient care and staffing related activities. All staff assigned to the clinical area report directly to the manager with regards to patient care and staff issues. The manager provides an environment that supports and advances professional practice. They lead the team, along with the Allied Health Clinical Coordinator, in implementing evidence-based practices that are sensitive to limited resources within a patient centered care philosophy. They role model professional and organizational core competencies.
**Qualifications**:
- Masters Degree in a health related discipline
- Minimum of five years recent and relevant clinical experience, demonstrated excellence in clinical practice and is academically prepared and experienced in the area of Chronic Disease Management
- At least three years experience in an administrative position or leadership position
- Membership in professional affiliations as appropriate
- Leadership training and evidence of ongoing professional development and learning
- Demonstrates excellence in interpersonal, communication, coaching, mentoring and team building skills that facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team
- Demonstrates superior understanding of systems, systems analysis techniques, value analysis process and continuous improvement principles and tools Working knowledge and familiarity with applicable collective agreements
- Advocates for excellent patient care, plans, implements and evaluates evidence based outcome orientated changes in clinical practices and care delivery processes. These changes will evolve from continuous quality improvement and work redesigns.
- Possesses highly developed analytical, problem solving, critical thinking skills
- Demonstrates a strong patient and customer focused philosophy in all interactions
- Possess the ability to introduce and effectively facilitate change
- Demonstrates superior decision-making and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, support and critical analysis in stressful, complex clinical and emotional situations.
- Ability to analyze research and implement evidence-based practice into Policy and Procedure development & clinical practice.
