**Fundraising, Grant Writing and Communications Coordinator, Elizabeth Fry Society of Northwestern Ontario**
**$30.00/hour, 35 hours-a-week, 24 month Contract - Start date Sept 6th**
The Elizabeth Fry Society Northwestern Ontario is a vibrant non-profit charitable organization that provides a range of services and programs to vulnerable and marginalized women, who find themselves in conflict with the law. We currently have an opening for a full time (35 hours-a-week), 24 month contract position as a **Fundraising, Grant Writing and Communications Coordinator.**
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Fundraising, Grant Writing and Communications Coordinator position is responsible for the following:
- Identifying funding opportunities and obtaining grants to expand the organization’s operations.
- Maintaining and expanding the existing donor base
- Developing a communications strategy and communication tools and materials that align with Elizabeth Fry Society’s mission and vision and that support its programming and fundraising goals.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
This position assumes responsibility for the following duties:
**Fundraising**:
- Design and implement annual fundraising plan, including timeline, goals and strategies to ensure fundraising goals are met
- Cultivate and solicit donors for the annual fund, comprehensive/major gifts, and monthly and repeat donations
- Maintain and grow the donor database and other infrastructural resources.
- Monitor and evaluate fundraising activities; prepare monthly and quarterly status updates and forecasts for the Director of Operations and Board of Directors.
- Empower the Director, staff, Board and volunteers with tools and training to fully engage the entire team in fundraising.
- Facility and implement biannual direct mail campaign
- Make presentations to potential funders
**Proposal Writing and Grants Management**:
- Identify government, foundations and corporate funding sources.
- Manage the fulfillment of grant reporting obligations.
- Manage and grow a comprehensive database of grant and sponsorship opportunities.
- Manage grants received and ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner.
- Maintain communication and positive working relations with funders.
- Build and maintaining new and existing community partnerships.
- Act as the liaison between the funders and the agency
**Event Planning**
- Oversee planning and execution of special fundraising events, in conjunction with Fundraising Committee.
- Develop sponsorships for special events, fulfill compliance requirements with sponsors and manage sponsors’ relationships.
- Develop special event templates that will guide future event planning.
- Manage the logistics for special events.
- Maintain communication and positive working relations with sponsors.
**Communications**
- Develop and implement internal and external communications strategy and policies.
- Manage content on website and all social media accounts
- Craft key messages in relation to different aspects of agency mandate and programs, review quarterly and updated as needed.
**Operations**
- Managing office supplies and equipment inventory for entire office.
- perform a variety of resource management and strategic planning tasks to ensure their organization is adequately staffed and supplied.
- Responsible for the management of purchases, contracts and coordinating the annual operating budget.
- Track and maintain all key service subscription dates and renewals
- Manage and track all revenue and expenses to make sure we are operating within budget, making amendments and recommendations as needed
- Sit on finance and fundraising committee
- Manage and track all incoming revenues, as an added accounting control
- Maintain communication with bookkeeper regarding project funding and budgets
- Provide updates on project fund tracking and planning for expenditures to ensure funds are utilized within prescribed timelines.
- Coordinate with bookkeeper at year end regarding charitable donation receipts.
**Qualifications**
- Fundraising and grant writing experience. Minimum of 3 years preferred. Please list the grants you applied for and note which grants were successful.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Competency and fluency with current computer technology and fundraising tools.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to follow directions and meet established goals.
- Post secondary degree or diploma in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Women’s Studies or English, or related experience.
- Experience working with women’s organizations and an understanding of the context in which women become marginalized and criminalized.
- Ability to work independently with and be accountable to a Board of Directors.
- Experience working with a non-profit organization
