The **Application Scientist** (Product Development) acts as the eyes and ears of our customers to ensure that product innovations meet or exceed their demands. This role is part of a team that designs and develops new mass spectrometry products that solve customer analytical challenges.

This position reports to the Manager, Software Development & Verification, and is part of the Global Research & Development (R&D) team located in Concord, Ontario, Canada and will be an on-site role.

**In this role, you will have the opportunity to**:

- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to help define software product requirements.
- Evaluate new mass spectrometry-based software features to ensure that the target customer needs are met.
- Utilize your communication skills, flexibility, thirst for knowledge, creativity and strong foundation of experimental design and analysis to achieve project goals in a cross-functional team environment.
- Multi-task between day-to-day activities and projects while working against challenging deadlines

**The essential requirements of the job include**:

- A university degree in an appropriate scientific field; bachelor’s degree at minimum, advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working with nominal or accurate mass LC/MS workflows
- Practical experience using mass spectrometry to solve real-world problems in areas such as pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical science, food safety or environmental testing is highly beneficial.
- Ability able to multi-task between work activities, work to meet challenging deadlines and strong organizational skills.
