Nurturing**. - Our team is currently hiring a: _ - Activity Aide - Summer Relief_ If you are energetic about working with a team that is committed to a collaborative team approach, join us **What will you do.** - Must be self directed and creative. Must be able to interact positively with residents and coworkers - Carries out planned programs in a creative and imaginative manner, maintaining the optimum interest of the resident - Have a genuine interest and ability to work with residents who have a physical, behavioural, memory and/or communicative challenges - Must be able to work one to one with residents and coordinate small and larger group programs - Assists residents while promoting independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) through the implementation of restorative care programs as outlined in the residents plan of care - Must perform duties in accordance with the homes Mission and Values and the Fixing Long Term Care Act **What will you need.** - Must be currently enrolled in and provide proof of registration of one of the following programs; Recreation and Leisure, Kinesiology, Therapeutic Recreation, SSW, DSW, Behavioural Science, Gerontology or diploma or degree in a related field - Willing to successfully complete the Food Handlers training program offered by the health unit and maintain certification - Good communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization - Vulnerable sector check that is less than 6 months old at the time of hire - TB test steps 1 and 2 proof and 1 step in last 6 months until two step obtained in last year. - Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally, always - Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently **What we offer.** - Competitive pay with the opportunity to grow - Exceptional health benefits for permanent part-time and full-time for you and your family - Employee well-being programs that offer support to our employees and their families - On-site fitness center - Retreat room with a relaxing massage chair - Exclusive employee discount program - Exclusive Employee App for Enhanced Communication and Collaboration - Funded professional development opportunities may be available - Mentoring programs for career development - Set up to succeed in your role with a detailed onboarding and training process - Free parking We are dedicated to making our homes comfortable, enjoyable, and secure places to work.
