Summary: The **Carpentry Foreman**is responsible for completing a variety of job tasks involving general carpentry, framing, renovations, formwork and structures, and assisting with the completion of landscape construction projects. Job responsibilities will also require performing general labour duties.

Hours: 7 AM - 5 PM Weekdays, increased/decreased as needed

Wage: $35 - $50/ hour, based on experience

Job Duties:

- Estimating woodworking for projects
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the day-to-day work activities of a carpentry crew of 1 to 2 employees
- Conduct on-site orientations with new employees and employees in new positions, which cover all company health and safety policies, practices, and procedures
- Ensure that all work activities are carried out in compliance with local and company health and safety laws and regulations at shop/yard and jobsites
- Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
- Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to complete work activities
- Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project
- Manage the execution of construction projects, planning labour requirements, equipment requirements and material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of job(s) within project deadlines
- Delegate job tasks to appropriate crew members to assist in the completion of landscape constructions
- Meet with subcontractors and supervise quality, efficiency, and deadlines
- Operate various hand tools, power tools, and equipment used to complete carpentry duties, including: Circular saw, table saw, router, pneumatic nail gun, ramset, drills, and other tools used for measuring, cutting, fastening, and drilling
- Prepare layouts and build foundations
- Build walls and install partitions
- Assist in building decks and fences
- Assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment
- Assist in building and installing platforms, scaffolding, ramps, and ladders
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
- Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis, including: daily site meeting logs, crew daily forms, equipment daily inspection forms, attendance tracking, time and materials billing summaries, requests for time off, etc.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned (may include supporting landscape and masonry crews)

**Requirements**:

- Completion of high school
- College/Red Seal certification
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience with general carpentry, renovations, finish carpentry, framing, and formwork
- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
