The Small Business and Economic Development Division advances a strong, sustainable economy that supports broad-based prosperity through informed economic policies and initiatives that support small business sector development, decision making through data analysis, efficient and effective regulatory frameworks, and strong relationships with economic development leaders.

The Economic and Regulatory Analysis (ERA) branch provides ministry and government-wide support for economic analysis, policy and research; impact analysis; and regulatory and service improvement. The branch also provides secretariat support to the activities of the Premier’s Special Advisor on Youth.

The position supports economic, statistical and forecasting projects by developing and managing data, ensuring accuracy of computations and methodologies, conducting comprehensive economic and statistical analysis, and developing reports on results. The Economic Analyst supports initiatives from across the branch and division and contributes to multiple projects and teams.

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or directly related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience gathering and managing data and conducting economic and statistical analysis.
- Experience with research methodologies, including use of appropriate research techniques, gathering, synthesizing, evaluating and interpreting information from diverse sources.
