Assistant Site Superintendent

**Overview**
The **Assistant** **Site Superintendent** reports directly to the Construction Manager and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations on active projects.**Responsibilities**:_
- Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and practices, ensuring site is in compliance with Alberta's Occupational Health and Safety standards and company safety policies at all times.
- Support the Site Superintendent in overseeing the daily operations of the construction site, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Assist in facilitating site meetings.
- Supervise subcontractors, trade personnel, and laborers to ensure work is being completed according to schedule, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Monitor the quality of work and materials, ensuring they meet contract specifications and building codes. Help identify and resolve any quality issues promptly.
- Assist in ordering materials, scheduling deliveries, and managing the equipment on-site to ensure timely availability and proper usage.
- Assist with daily reporting, including progress updates, site conditions, safety logs, and any delays or issues. Ensure accurate documentation of work performed and materials used.
- Help manage site logistics, including traffic flow, material storage, and waste removal, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Maintain effective communication with the Site Superintendent, project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to keep everyone informed of progress and any issues that arise.
- Assist in identifying and resolving problems on-site, whether related to scheduling, logistics, or technical issues, ensuring mínimal impact on project timelines and quality.
- Ensure the site complies with all local, provincial, and federal construction regulations, including Alberta's building codes and environmental guidelines.
- **Qualifications & Experience**:_
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial construction experience, with 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of 3+ years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety standards with project experience in commercial tenant Improvements, commercial construction and or residential multi-family construction.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of construction software and tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Projects) an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- **Requirements**:_
- Must have and maintain a valid Class 5 license, with clean driving record.
- Eligible to legally work in Canada without employer sponsorship.
- Must live in the Bow Valley/be willing to drive to project sites throughout Bow Valley.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification is required. Successful applicants are expected to obtain within probationary period. Preference given to those holding current Basic or Standard First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Skid Steer, Fall Protection, and other relevant safety certifications are an asset.
- **Compensation and Benefits**:_
- Remuneration based on experience, starting at $90,000 per year
- Minimum of 3 weeks’ paid vacation per year
- Cell phone allowance and access to company fleet as required.
