**How you will contribute as part of the Slaman’s team**:
Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the sales team has day-to-day responsibility for supporting customers and fulfilling sales orders accurately and in a timely manner. The Shipping Route Driver will complete the daily delivery routes and manage route coordination, provide client and customer service in a professional manner when delivering product, notify the sales team of concerns or opportunities as they arise, and other tasks as directed.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Tasks as assigned
- Driving deliveries in a 26 ft straight truck with automatic transmission (G License)
- Driving set delivery routes throughout southern Ontario (inclusive of Hamilton, Toronto, Niagara, and London)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Lifting and dynamic movements with items (pails with water; flower boxes; sleeve boxes etc) up to 50lbs each
- Packing truck with pails/boxes/carts according to route customer orders and unloading pails, boxes, carts and/or skids at customer locations
- Verify contents of inventory loads against shipping papers
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries

**What will you need to succeed**:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications)
- Valid Ontario Drivers License (G) with clean drivers abstract (driving history)
- No requirements but prior training or education is always an asset.
- Forklift license or willingness to obtain a license.

Experience
- Entry-level - no prior experience required.
- Driving experience an asset.

Knowledge/Skill/Ability
- Comfort communicating professionally (politely and accurately) with customers.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and team members.

**Position Details**:
Employment type: Part-Time Casual

Duration of employment: Permanent, year-round

Hours of work: No weekly minimum; irregular seasonal. Minimum shift length 4 hours when scheduled.

Schedule: Scheduled days are Monday to Friday standard routes. Limited requirement to work long weekends and extra hours during peak shipping times and according to delivery route needs.

Work Conditions: Cold environment - ready to ship product is stored and packed in a cooler with temperatures ranging from 2-6 degrees Celsius; Warm environment - Warehouse and Production Greenhouse may range in temperature throughout the seasons 15-30+ degrees Celsius.

Reports to: Sales Manager

Salary Range: $20 to $23 per hour; prior experience and skill set considered when setting salary
