CIC offers the Total Care Education System to support students to achieve their goal of getting into a post-secondary institution of their choice. Our Total Care Education provides services that can support international students to meet their Academic, Social, Emotional and Physical needs.

The Residence Life Advisor provides parental-style support to students, fostering a safe, engaging, and enjoyable residential community experience.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Establish positive rapport with students and staff
- Aid students’ adjustment to life in Canada and the Hamilton community
- Organize and lead community-building activities
- Promote students’ well-being academic, social, emotional, and physical
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address issues effectively
- Conduct nightly curfew checks and monitor recreational activities
- Utilize residence software accurately for administrative tasks
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Provide high-quality customer service to students and staff
- Identify and seize unplanned learning opportunities
- Monitor students in the gym and during various recreational activities
- Address students’ emotional and medical needs within scope
- Escort students to appointments as needed
- Conduct residence tours and counsel on housekeeping
- Investigate and report suspicious behaviors
- Patrol premises to ensure safety
- Communicate and enforce residence policies
- Monitor front desk duties promptly
- Perform other assigned duties

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in related fields
- Experience working with youth in diverse communities is advantageous
- Ability to act with integrity under pressure
- Strong organization, time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Team player with high standards of attendance and punctuality
- Goal-oriented and adaptable to change
- Valid G Driver’s License with clean abstract preferred
- Fluent in verbal and written English
- Physical stamina for walking, standing, and lifting up to 12 kgs/25 pounds
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and databases

**Hours of Work**:

- Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays to accommodate operational needs**.**:

- Reliable transportation and willingness to work at various residences

**Job Type**: Part-time

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
