The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 Ph.D. students). In the Faculty of Health Sciences, the H.A. Leeper Speech and Hearing Clinic (Clinic) provides clinical training in speech-language pathology and audiology for students enrolled in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), Clinical Research facilitated by faculty in the Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (HRS) Program, and Clinical Service for the community. It is also the home of the Southwestern Ontario sites of the Ontario Infant Hearing Program and the Preschool Speech and Language Initiative, tykeTALK. **Responsibilities**: **Job Purpose** The Audiology Care Coordinator's (Audiologist, Hearing Instrument Specialist, or equivalent) primary duties are to support the clinical audiology team in providing hearing services to clients with hearing disorders at the H.A. Leeper Speech and Hearing Clinic. The Audiology Care Coordinator will provide hearing care services such as hearing screenings/assessments, ear mould impressions, assistive devices maintenance and repairs, manage equipment calibration and inventory checks, manage infection control protocols, and support the hearing aid dispensary by processing prescriptions, receiving orders and tracking ADP funding claims. The Audiology Care Coordinator will collaborate with the audiology team and, on occasion, audiology graduate students. **Main Responsibilities** **1. Individual treatment, Assistive Device Maintenance and Repair** - Ability to provide hearing care services within the scope of practice, with a focus on supporting hearing aid dispensing. Maintain, troubleshoot and perform repairs on assistive devices such as hearing aids, voice amplifiers and FM systems and ability to set up and use augmentative communication systems and technology. Conduct client training on the use, care and maintenance of assistive devices. **2. Hearing Aid Dispensing Support **- Ability to build and sustain positive relations with hearing and communication aid manufacturers, process hearing aid prescriptions, repairs, returns and warranty concerns. Track incoming and outgoing orders, perform product status checks (pre-fitting) before the device is distributed to clients, and report on overall dispensing rates and revenue. Communicate information relating to hearing aid dispensing issues to clinical colleagues and complete charting for all patient interactions. **3. Infection Control & Supply Inventory **- Maintain a complete and current list of major equipment (e.g., audiometers, hearing aid analyzers) in the clinic along with expected lifespan, repair issues, and current calibration status to aid in departmental planning. Provide a list of systems requiring calibration on an annual basis to support calibration scheduling. Troubleshoot and perform basic calibration checks on audiology equipment on an ad hoc basis. Review incoming order forms for proper coding, quantities requested, and authorized approvals; inspects and verifies supplies received against invoice and packing slip; initiates requests for vendor corrections. Manage inventory reviews on supplies and recommend order requests of consumables/renewables on an as-needed basis (aseptic wipes, batteries, ear mould impression material, foam tips, tubing, etc.) to the clinic administrative team **4. Student Training and Supervision**: Coordinate hearing aid repair training for graduate students. Train and lead students on how to perform assistive devices repairs within clinical standards. Manage audiology software updates on clinical equipment, lead students in this activity as appropriate. Work collaboratively with colleagues in additional skills training such as ear mould impressions, as needed. **5.** Other: Support other administrative and clinical duties as assigned. **Education**: - Masters Degree in Audiology or Hearing Instrument Specialist Certification or equivalent - CASLPO Registration or Hearing Instrument Specialist Designation from AHIP or equivalent - Hearing aid authorizer under the Ontario Mini
