As an IPM Scout your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular crop inspections and report detailed findings to the Grow Team.
- Follow and complete daily, weekly, and monthly bio plans.
- Inspect and log quality of beneficial insects; report any discrepancies.
- Manage and optimize the banker plant program.
- Maintain clean and organized scouting tools, equipment, and the spray room.
- Replace sticky cards and log data using IPM tracking systems.
- Stay informed on pesticide use, safety procedures, and documentation with guidance from the Growers.
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and collaborative greenhouse environment.
**Qualifications**:
- Diploma or degree in Horticulture/Agriculture (required)
- Valid Pesticide/Spray License
- Prior experience in a greenhouse setting and/or IPM role (required)
- Strong interest and/or knowledge of common greenhouse pests
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Knowledge of safety practices and hazard recognition
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff
- Availability on weekends and extended hours during spring seasonal period.
