Seeking Laboratory Technician

Experience in metal plating an asset.

Pro-Pipe Service and Sales Ltd is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team. This is a leadership role within the Metal finishing shop, main job is overseeing plating: operate and monitor equipment which finishes, plates and coats metal articles or parts, to give them corrosion resistance properties.

You will oversee the assembly and inspection of products to ensure the highest quality product is provided to our customers. You will be responsible for your work area to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the area. You will set up and monitor the production of products in your area and participate in the continuous improvement process at the site to address safety, production, and quality improvements. This is a full-time permanent position.

Key Responsibilities
- Competent technician for the Plating Area
- Preparing and maintaining plating production records
- Start up and shut down of the plating line at the end of the production - may require overtime as dictated by production demands
- Operating and monitoring electroplating equipment
- Identify and recommend overtime requirements
- Provide production lead time
- Preparing and mixing metalizing solutions according to formulas or specifications
- General administration of the plating shop, which includes but is not limited to;
- Planning and prioritizing the daily work with the shop
- Organizing the material and working to place orders with management
- Level load work amongst operators and help cross-train for skills versatility
- Helping ensure material flowing, especially when the material requires rework or disposition
- Helping with Root Cause analysis for problem prevention and correction.

**Requirements**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- 3+ years of experience as a team leader in a technical and processing environment

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
