Delivery Driver

We are searching for a friendly, helpful and energetic delivery driver to join the team at Nero Belgian Waffle Bar. This is a great role for someone who enjoys being part of a supportive team but also enjoys the freedom of being on the road. There is room for growth in hours and/or duties in this role. While we need someone who can drive and can legally purchase alcohol, having delivery driving experience is not required.

**Job description**

The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in helping ensure our three locations run smoothly. Being able to reliably depend on this person’s capability and skill enables Nero to offer a memorable and first-rate dining experience to our guests. Reporting to the Operations (Manager) of our flagship location, this role is responsible for checking inventory against par levels, creating order lists, shopping for ingredients and moving prepared doughs and other items between our three locations. This role is also responsible for receiving these goods into our inventory system and upholding our FIFO and dating system. Other kinds of pickups, transfers and drop-offs of equipment and supplies will also be needed. A person who is detail oriented, conscientious, flexible, helpful and who enjoys working solo while being part of a friendly team will excel in this role.

It is important that the person in this role is available to work 3 to 4 shifts a week with availability on weekends. For the individual who is able to jump in and get involved, there may be the opportunity to create additional hours if desired. The successful person in this role can grow within the Company.

**Other Job Highlights**
- Mostly internal deliveries and pickup duties.
- Fewer stops than typical delivery jobs.
- Cargo van used; no special training or licensing required.

**Requirements**:

- Has a class 5 BC driver’s abstract (last 5 years) free of any encumbrances.
- Must pass the ICBC practice knowledge tests.
- Is a safe, lawful and courteous driver at all times; practices defensive driving techniques and always chooses safety over speed.
- Must be legally permitted to purchase alcohol in BC.
- Ability to perform accurate calculations to determine order volumes based on on-hands and par levels.
- Is able to clearly communicate with a variety of different team members; readily offers fair feedback to Management
- Ability to safely load, unload and move inventory by hand or dolly up to 50lbs.
- You are eligible to work in Canada, either on a work permit, as a permanent resident or you are a Citizen of Canada. When you have a work permit, we require that there is at least 1 year left on your visa.
- Experience in the Hospitality Industry is an asset.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 20 per week
