Job duties include:
- Selecting and assembling product for store orders, accurately and efficiently in all climates (dry, coolers, and freezers)
- Ensuring that all cases and pallets are properly identified with the correct store number
- Performing visual and operational vehicle safety inspections and reporting any unsafe vehicles to a supervisor or maintenance personnel
- Operating warehouse equipment: i.e.; pallet jacks (double and triple), and/or reach trucks (training is provided)
- Production related tasks including: parts assembly, off-loading parts and transferring parts
- Shipping & loading trailers
- Order picking for various customers
- Working as part of the service team to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and product quality of customer orders;
- Receiving product
- Housekeeping which includes sweeping and throwing out garbage
- Complete visual inspection of trailers and incoming ingredients to ensure it is within compliance when offloading
- Inspect and receive all deliveries, ensuring all paperwork is correct and perform inventory counts
- Prior Warehouse & Heavy equipment experience (preferred).
- Forklift experience (preferred).
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Complying with Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Comply with all Saputo Orangeville policies and procedures.
- Focus on customer satisfaction.
- Take on additional duties, as required.
Who we are looking for:
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to lift and carry up to 60lbs, repeatedly with accuracy in a timed environment
- Capable of working around machinery and able to use an electric-powered pallet jack

Your experience in previous warehouse and operations roles, interacting with other departments and speaking with customers has prepared you for this role. You will provide strategic oversight and direction for overall warehousing strategies, product location, shelving/infrastructure and equipment investments. You are capable of running day to day shipping and receiving yourself and assisting with answering phones / responding to customer inquiries.
You are capable of establishing and managing a growing team of warehouse staff and maintaining optimal staffing levels for the various seasonal peaks and container shipment arrivals as the company expands. You move quickly, safely, pay attention to details, are self-managed, trustworthy, loyal, and excel at complex situations such as inventory reorganisation, facility relocations, and new software implementations. You thrive in a company that is growing quickly and seek long term advancement.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform and manage all inbound and outbound container/LTL freight and courier shipment shipments.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy in daily operations.
- Provide leadership for the efficient, accurate and cost-effective operation of the receiving, storage, order preparation and shipping functions.
- Plan, review and manage warehouse employees, health & safety operations and reduce damages in freight.
- Work with operations to improve processes, revenue and company culture.
- Audit and maintain protocols for a clean, safe warehouse environment.
- Work to maintain high levels of safety, accuracy and warehouse performance.
- Meet warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing productive, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
- Meet warehouse financial standards by providing weekly estimates, monthly reviews and annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
