**The Role**

This is an exciting opportunity to bring Financial Leadership to a growing organization. As a **Financial Controller**, you will support the leadership team and perform a pivotal role regarding monthly reporting and analysis, ad hoc reporting, budgeting, forecasting and projections. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

**Account & Financial Statements**:

- Support all divisions with financial statement analysis. Provide recommendations for improvement in quoting and managing projects based on analysis
- Manage all accounting operations including cash management functions (13-week cashflow), overseeing invoicing, A/R, A/P, General Ledger, Cash disbursements, payroll, and bank reconciliation functions
- Prepare weekly statements for analysis of Performance Metrics, Sales Gross Margins, and the Incentive Reports for all divisions
- Manage, coordinate, and perform the preparation and review of budget, financial forecasts, and variances
- Perform bi-monthly analysis of Balance Sheet accounts
- Make recommendations to Senior Management and Office Administrator regarding Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to ensure minimum cash requirements are being met
- Review monthly financial statements with Senior management to ensure accuracy of statements for all revenue and expense accounts
- Work with Senior Management to ensure budgets are accurately depicted for the goals of each department
- Prepare budget vs. actual analysis of financial statements for the Senior Management Team
- Assist in tracking and maintaining Fixed Asset sub ledgers. Prepare journal entries for new assets as well as depreciation, sale of FA’s and write off of FA’s
- Provide leadership, accuracy, and clerical support with the Office Administration team
- Review standard quoting and pricing strategies to ensure consistency with plan
- Perform review analysis for all customer contract renewal agreements ensuring gross margins, providing recommendations for price increases where needed along with cost recovery strategies for CPI, labour, and material price increases
- Develop and document business processes and counting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Post customer payments by recording cheques and EFT transactions
- Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions from local deposits
- Update and maintain Accounts Receivable reporting and strategies and management of collecting outstanding Accounts Receivables
- Prepare payroll from all employee time logs and any other related employee documentation

**Monthly and Year End Analysis and Support**:

- Prepare working papers for company auditors
- Liaise with company auditors to answer any questions posed by the audit team
- Prepare internal statements for the Senior Management team to evaluate the year versus budget and the strategic plan
- Accurate preparation of monthly returns (HST, EHT, WSIB, Payroll Deductions)
- Accurate preparation of yearly reporting (T4’s, T4 summaries, ROE’s)

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience as a Financial Controller/Accounting Manager
- 3 - 5 years experience in Financial Analysis
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- CPA designation or in progress of completing
- Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record of leading financial teams and direct reports
- Thorough business acumen in relation to accounting principles and supporting several departments in an organization
- Proven experience with general ledger functions, month-end/year-end close process and working with external auditors
- Strong team player and strong communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Technology savvy and strong software abilities
- Experience in service industry
- Experience in implementation of new ERP systems
