**Job Description**:
***: Under the general supervision of the Superintendent Professional Standards, develops partnerships and coordinates delivery of the community paramedic programs including data collection and analysis, evidence review, and program evaluation and design.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Conducts needs assessments, planning, research, design, implementation, and evaluation of CPP.
- Uses data to support the development and implementation of community paramedicine programs (CPP).
- Conducts research such as patient / provider surveys, system and patient needs analyses; works with allied health care providers and uses their data to support CPP.
- Coordinates program services with community partners, agencies, doctors, and other stakeholders for the provision of at-home/centre services and education to the public to reduce patient requirements for hospital services.
- Collects numerical data and translates into easily understandable information; prepares same for reports, business cases, and presentations.
- Conducts literature reviews and collects relevant information for local needs.
- Conducts information sessions on CPP and coordinates distribution of related resource materials.
- Contributes to the development of policies, procedures, and protocols in to meet client and community needs.
- Participates in local, provincial, and inter/national CPP research efforts.
- Uses data, information, and research to promote awareness, education, advocacy, and special events, and informs media of opportunities to promote CPP and service achievements.
- Identifies best practices and supports the preparation of evidence-based business cases to support recommendations.
- Supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of training of paramedics and others as required.
- Participates in CPP and related media events.
- Assists with revisions and updates of training manuals; drafts and/or edits written materials; uses guidelines and expertise from other programs to develop and implement CPP.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education/Experience**:

- Diploma in business administration, health sciences, or related field together with three to five years’ related experience; or
- Approved equivalent combination of education and experience achieved through certification as a paramedic
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulations, acts, by-laws, standards, guidelines and procedures pertaining to paramedic operations

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing, with the ability to make presentations to large groups and a variety of audiences
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with superiors, co-workers, community groups and stakeholders, government agencies, patients, and health care workers
- Ability to identify, understand, and meet/exceed the requirements of internal and external customers
- Proven ability to function as an effective team member and to work independently
- Strong research, project/time management, analytical/critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

**Assets**:

- Knowledge of paramedic training programs
- Certification as a paramedic in Ontario
- Knowledge of paramedic patient documentation, equipment, and the Ambulance Act

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- Must work flexible hours on weekends and evenings
- May be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation
- Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
