**Experienced Cook for a Child Care Center**

**Experienced cook for a Childcare Centre.**

We are a large childcare centre in Etobicoke searching for an experienced Centre Cook/Chef

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Cook/prepare meals and snacks according to Canada’s Food Guide. (Daily)
- Responsible to be informed of, and accommodating food allergies and special medical and dietary requirements of the centre's children.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen; ensure that the cleaning schedules are followed. (Daily)
- Maintain a working environment that meets or exceeds all requirements from the Health Department.
- Prepare meals according to the posted weekly menu.
- Assist and develop rapport with staff and children and families.
- Attend workshops, training, conferences, and staff meetings as required.
- Assume other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma.
- Safe Food Handling Certification.
- 1-2 years of foodservice experience, preferably cooking for large groups.
- CPR and First Aid certification level C.
- Familiar with the Child Care and Early Learning Act, Canada’s Food Guide, and the Health and Sanitary regulations.
- Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Persons Screening.
- Up to date communications including MMR, TDAP, etc.

**Other Requirements**:

- Communicates in a thorough, clear, and timely manner and supports information sharing and goal achievement across the Association.
- Develops new ways or adapts existing ideas to help us achieve desired results. Challenge the status quo to discover more effective ways of performing.
- Do the right thing at the right time without being asked.
- Problem Solving: Identify an issue, gather and process relevant information come up with possible solutions, select appropriate responses, and implement them.
