**Operations Assistant, Kentville Operations Centre**:
Operations Assistant

7 hours per day

Vacant Position effective immediately

Education Entities Non-Union Compensation Framework, Band 2

Salary $38,526-$48,158 annually (pro-rated for term of employment and depending on qualifications and experience)

Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Employment for Non-Union Employees (AVRCE).

Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the Director of Operations. The Operations Assistant provides crucial support to the Operations Department inclusive of the Information Technology and Property Services Divisions.

Enabling these divisions to successfully deliver services to schools.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Secretarial/clerical training at a Community College or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience working in an office environment is preferred.
- Accurate typing skills and precise filing skills.
- Proven clerical, communication skills, collaborative and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and accurately on a flexible schedule.
- Knowledge of current office procedures and equipment.
- Experience using SAP & Adobe Acrobat is preferred.
- Ability to solve problems independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to exercise good judgement, take initiative and accept responsibility.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Enthusiasm and a pleasant manner.
- Experience with inventory control is preferred.
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Enter data into appropriate database fields, records, and computer files.
- Initiate purchase orders
- Complete and manage IT tracking of warranty and returns.
- Process requests for parts and supplies and distribute to staff using regional courier.
- Process expense claims, including monthly VISA Statements
- Supplies and materials orders, creation and completion of purchases orders, goods receipt and follow up on processing invoices and distribution of materials.
- Prepare, create, and type agendas, reports, forms, and materials, copy, distribute, and file for various meetings and initiatives.
