Nature of work:

- The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in organizing a variety of social, cultural or sports activities for (mainly) groups, either as a complement to certain educational programs or more often as recreation itself.
- In doing so, the Technician takes into consideration the needs of the groups and the policies that have been established. Specific areas of responsibilities include intercollegiate sports and special events.**Responsibilities**:
- Participate in the organization, scheduling and supervision of certain intercollegiate sports; including liaison with coaches, players, leagues, budget control, equipment, uniforms, etc.
- Organize and participate in campus activities and outreach programs related to student life and in the activities and programs listed above
- Ensure that all college regulations and policies are respected during organized activities
- Evaluate activities and programs according to established departmental policies
- Submit budget proposals for the activities and programs and control expenditures according to College rules and regulations
- Participate in the preparation of departmental budgets
- Enlist student help as required and prepare the necessary documentation for the supervisor’s approval
- Organize, coordinate and participate in the special events related to the intercollegiate sports of this dossier
- Participate in other Student Service activities
- Represent the college with outside organisms, such as RSEQ and CCAA.
- Act as the organizer of competition for home games of Athletics Teams
- Perform other related tasks.

**Requirements**:

- Qualifications:

- To have a diploma of college studies (DEC) in either Community, Recreation and Leadership training, or techniques d’interventions en loisirs or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
- Conditions:
- Intermediate level Word and Excel (testing may be required)
- Advanced oral and written communication skills in English and French (testing may be required)
- Proven ability to work with the students and the public
- Must possess strong customer service skills, capable of quickly adapting to changing circumstances
- Must have knowledge of sports.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to lead some dossiers and support others, as required
- Knowledge of PowerPoint, an asset
- Occasional weekend work may be required during sports seasons
