Network Telecom Technician Position type: Full Time Hours: 8:00AM - 4:00PM Salary Range: $1,118.51/weekly - $1,289.50 Position Summary Reporting directly to the Manager of Network Infrastructure and Telecommunications, the Network Telecom Technician is responsible for supporting all facets networking, public address and telephony technologies board-wide. This entails analyzing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and rectifying day to day issues with switching and routing to all Board own sites and buildings. Maintaining confidentiality is a requirement of this position. This description is a summary of the typical functions of the job and is not to be considered an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible job responsibilities, tasks, and duties. **Qualifications**: The basic qualifications for this position include: - Community College diploma in Computer Sciences, Telecommunications or a related field. - Network +, CCNA or Certifications focused in Voice and Public Addressed Systems (Not mandatory but an asset) - Minimum of three (3) years experience working in Information and Communication Technology OR Equivalent combination of education and experience - A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle - Ability to use critical judgment - Problem Solving and Analytical Skills - Strong organizational Skills - Effective Teamwork Skills - Strong and dynamic Interpersonal Communication Skills - Strong understanding of Network technology/topologies - Competent understanding of Structured cabling - Strong and competent understanding of VoIP technology - Strong and competent understanding of PA technology - Excellent time management Skills And - Evidence from previous work history of satisfactory attendance and punctuality ALL new employees will be required to submit a current original criminal background check (CBC) including a "Vulnerable Sector Screening" (VSS) issued within 6 months prior to commencing employment with the Board.
