**Electrician, Journeyman**

Reporting to the Electrical Foreman, the Electrician, Journeyman in conjunction with the Electrical Foreman and/or Project Manager support electrical requirements of solar installations and oversee, coach and mentor Electrical Apprentices assigned to the project site.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assemble, install, test, and maintain solar PV systems, electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of electrical equipment installations.
- Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
- Installs, examines, replaces or repairs AC/DC Motors and Drives, PLC's, 480V power, 120V control circuits, 4160-volt switchgear, transformers, motors, starters, relays and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical controls.
- Installs, examines, replaces or repairs electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, and other electrical components.
- Sizes and installs electrical circuits including panels, wire size and type, conduit, protective devices, switches, and related equipment needed to comply with the CEC and/or NEC.
- Fabricates, installs and/or runs conduit, 3-Phase work, motor terminations, control and instrument troubleshooting and panel work.
- Committed to safe work practices in accordance with miEnergy Safety procedures and policies

**Work Conditions**:
This position is physically and mentally demanding, involving exposure to all elements of outdoor work, ability to lift up to 60lbs, work at heights, lead electrical installation and timelines to ensure compliant delivery of projects.

**Requirements**:

- Must have applicable safety tickets (i.e. CSTS,WHMIS 2015)
- Red Seal certified & registered with a Canadian governing body.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation
- Proven safety attitude and excellent attendance history
- Demonstrated leadership and critical thinking / problem solving
- Required: A valid Driver’s License and a reliable method of transportation to the project site which may require extensive travel.
- Must have a strong work ethic, focus and accountability to meeting metrics.
- Experience in a team-based settings, solar experience preferred
