Premier Building Solutions Ltd. requires a motivated, safety conscious and reliable Carpenter Apprentice & Skilled Labourer responsible for performing general construction tasks involving physical labour on commercial construction projects.

**JOB SUMMARY**:

- Provide assistance to site supervisors on all commercial construction sites to ensure compliance with design, project specifications, regulations, and safety codes
- Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials
- Mix, pour and spread concrete
- Backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications, using appropriate tools.
- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis
- Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, saws, impact tools and other tools as directed
- Assist trades in construction activities such as framing, demolition, drywall, painting, roofing and other tasks as assigned
- Ability to successfully complete physical assessment testing
- Read and interpret plans, instructions, blueprints, structural drawings, rough sketches, and specifications to determine work activities
- Participate in/at worksite safety meetings
- Proactively identify and prevent hazards

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- 6+ months of previous construction labour experience required
- Carpenter apprentices actively enrolled in the apprenticeship program preferred
- Previous commercial construction experience is an asset
- Ability to operate a variety of construction equipment
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to work at heights
- Valid drivers’ license
- Standard 1st Aid/CPR would be preferred
- Fall Protection certification would be an asset
- WHMIS certification would be an asset
- Ability to take direction and meet project timelines
- Strong focus on safety

- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrate ethics and integrity
- Flexibility in working periods of overtime and out of town
- Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship

**Salary**: $16.46-$34.29 per hour
