The Role
As Assistant Executive Housekeeper, you will assist leading Housekeeping team taking guest experience within our guest rooms to a new level. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the main responsibilities within this role are to assist in affectively managing employee and housekeeping leader relations, through recruitment, performance reviews, recognition, incentive programs, development plans, and employee engagement & retention. Being aware and focused on the goals of the department through the quality of room cleanliness, productivity, guest service interactions, hallway and public area presentation at all times is key to the success of the incumbent within the role. You are driven by results, as well as being proactive with employee relations and cross departmental communication. You will be held accountable for the safety and security of all associates and their work areas.
**Job duties**:
Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper and the Rooms Division Manager, the primary responsibilities are:
Assists with monthly forecasting of labour and expenses for the department
Holds monthly communication meetings
Maintains GSS, ESS and engagement within the department to Marriott/hotel standards
Held accountable for the cleanliness of all guest rooms and public areas within the hotel
Assists in affectively managing employee and housekeeping leader relations, through recruitment, performance reviews, recognition, incentive programs, development plans, and employee engagement & retention.
Handles guest communication and follows through on any follow-up needed
Monitor and provide feedback to all of the housekeeping leaders in achieving departmental goals.
Follow trends within housekeeping and hospitality to enhance the guest experience and guest rooms
Inspect guest rooms when required
All other duties as assigned
**Employment Experience and Educational Requirements**:
Minimum 2 years previous experience within housekeeping or front office leadership
Able to motivate and influence large teams
Very organized and good with time management
Highly conscious of health and safety within the workplace
Computer skills with proficiency in word, excel, MSI and opera
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Proactive individual, being results oriented
