The Manager is responsible for the fulfillment of Epic Opportunities vision, mission and values as they provide overall leadership of day to day services. This position is responsible to ensure outcome oriented, person centred services for people with intellectual disabilities served by Epic Opportunities.

Some of the specific responsibilities also include hiring, providing orientation, training, and performance management. In addition to these leadership requirements the Manager will also perform administrative duties such as scheduling, payroll and financial responsibilities and is required to be on call Monday to Friday.

  • Initiate the gathering of information needed, from people we serve and their support networks, to gain an understanding of strengths, needs and goals.
  • Provide leadership to employees by implementing strategies that foster on-going opportunities to learn, grow and develop.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with families and support networks.
  • Ensure that all required financial documentation is completed and remitted in a timely manner, reporting discrepancies according to policy.

  • Demonstrated ability to assist vulnerable people in achieving personal outcomes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to listen, understand the problem and respond to various situations.
  • A valid Manitoba Driver’s License and use of a personal vehicle is required.

**Qualifications and experience we are looking for**

  • Degree in Social Sciences and / or Disability and Community Support Diploma is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory position related to services for persons living with an intellectual disability an asset.
  • Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.

The successful applicant will be asked to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and both a Child and Adult Abuse Registry check upon hire at their own expense.
