**About this role**:
This is an exciting opportunity that sits at the intersection of Product and Engineering. You will help gather requirements by asking the right questions and answering them rigorously while working closely with Product Managers (PM) and other department leads to understand their goals and help achieve them through data.

This role will be hybrid-based requiring a mix of working from our Montreal QC office if in this location or surrounding areas or be Remote-Canada.

**Responsibilities**
- Synthesize raw data into actionable insights to drive business results, identify key trends and opportunities and report the findings in a simple, compelling manner; provide quantitative analysis and strategic insights to make smart, data-driven decisions.
- Design and maintain data systems and databases; this includes optimization of existing code and proactively identifying areas that require attention.
- Mining data from various sources, possibly reorganizing it in a format that can be easily read by either human or machine.
- Preparing reports to effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
- Collaborate with PMs and Engineers; gather requirements, help identify opportunities for improvements based on data, conduct preliminary & exploratory analysis towards roadmap items and set alignment while managing expectations.
- Software development, using various APIs, for ad-hoc reports, dashboards, projects, and process automations.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience as a data analyst (experience analyzing and manipulating data in various formats - plain text or binary, output streams, SQL databases, Big Data warehouses such as HDFS/S3, Kafka).
- Strong English communication skills (written, verbal and reading) with an ability to effectively establish relationships and collaborate with different teams; French is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative; unafraid to dig deeper if there is a blocker.
- Advanced SQL skills, ability to perform complex query and analysis of data from multiple sources.
- Experience doing data extraction, transformation, and reporting with python.
- Ability to work autonomously, multi-task and in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail.
