**Duties**:
- Receives and ships all books, merchandise and other products for the Campus Store using computerized and manual systems in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Receives and signs documents for all incoming shipments from freight and courier companies by checking for damage and verifying quantity.
- Initiates damage or short shipment reports as necessary.
- Faxes and/or phones publishers, shipping carriers, customs brokers or suppliers in order to resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies and authorizes customs clearances.
- Organizes incoming and outgoing freight to provide easy access and facilitates quick movement to selling floor or reshipment to satellite campuses.
- Maintains receiving records in a computerized inventory system in order to provide timely information to coworkers, instructors, publishers and customers.
- Ships all outgoing shipments of books and products for web order customers and vendors.
- Prepares customs documentations for foreign shipments as required.
- Codes invoices or packing slips ensuring accuracy prior to forwarding documentation to accounting for processing and payment.
- Maintains filing system and procedure manual.
- Produces price labels using the computer and barcode printer.
- Troubleshooting barcode/scanning issues as reported by staff and corrects in the inventory system and on merchandise.
- Shelves books in designated areas of the selling floor.
- Organizes shipping, receiving, storage and distribution of course materials and general merchandise products for all Campus Stores.
- Moves boxes and products to other Campus Store departments for receiving.
- Directs casual/temporary staff assigned to the receiving area during peak periods.
- Maintains receiving area and receiving supplies.
- Assists Textbook area in various duties in the textbook area when required.
- Provides customer service by answering phones, responding to Campus Store staff queries from all stores and assisting customers to locate books or products.
- Inventory counting at year end.
**Required Qualifications**:
Grade 12 diploma plus additional coursework equivalent to 6-30 college credits in intermediate computer operation. One to three years recent relevant experience in computerized shipping and receiving in a retail or wholesale environment. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of customs procedures.
- Must be able to complete tasks quickly and efficiently in situations with urgent deadlines and time constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and communicate priorities to casual and temporary staff accordingly. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Proven ability to organize the workplace, work independently within a collaborative team environment.
- Proven effective customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain an efficient filing system.
- This position requires extensive physical labour including lifting and moving heavy boxes and pallets on a daily basis.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Knowledge of the Book Industry.
- Bookstore experience.
- The ability to switch quickly between tasks and prioritize.
