**Location - **This role is in-person with multiple UofA sites at North Campus, Edmonton OR Campus Saint-Jean, Edmonton, and South Campus Edmonton.

**Position**
Reporting to one of the Facility Area Supervisors (proposed new position-see accompanying JFS), the Maintenance Worker is responsible for the daily monitoring of Campus Services' equipment and buildings, and performs repairs and maintenance (within code regulations) in a variety of building operations disciplines and trades: Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Appliances, Food Service/Day-Care Equipment, Carpentry, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning.
The Maintenance Worker:
- Assists the Maintenance Worker-Lead Hand, in scheduling and coordinating the day-to-day activities of casual summer maintenance staff in delivery of the Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Assigns the labour, equipment and tools required by the implementation of the program, and monitors the progress of the activities, providing weekly reports to the FAS.
- Provides training and technical guidance to the hourly casual summer maintenance staff.
- Keeps the daily and monthly inventory of Qf parts, tools and equipment, etc.
- Maintains parts lists, and when necessary, orders and receives parts from the suppliers.
- Inform the FAS if and when outside assistance is required in dealing with specific situations (trades, fire and safety, University and outside contractors).
- Provides input for the annual budgeting, as well as, for short
- and long-term planning.
**Duties**
- Monitors daily equipment and buildings, performs repairs and maintenance (within code regulations), in a variety of building operation disciplines and trades: Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Appliances, Food Service/Day-Care Equipment, Carpentry, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning.

- Performs Administrative duties.
- Performs other related duties, as required, liaising with Residence Life, students, the public, other University staff, and outside contractors.
- Other duties as required.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Grade 12 Diploma
- A Fifth Class ABSA Ticket is required
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence (Non-GDL) to drive University vehicles
- First Aid, CPR (certificate), WHMIS, Customer Service, Asbestos Removing training an asset
- Supervisory, technical, trades related and computer courses diploma/certificate - optional
- Must be able to perform duties in a variety of trades, schedule, coordinate, train and supervise the activities of skilled and semi-skilled personnel
- Must have the technical and administrative abilities, in order to prepare and conduct the items mentioned above
- Three to five years of building operation experience is required
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Three to five years of building operation experience
- Customer Service and Residence Life training/familiarity
- Basic computer training
- Any job-related courses: appliance repairs, air-conditioning, building code requirements, etc.
