**Job Summary**

BLUBC Education Consulting now is seeking a dynamic and passionate part-time tutor / teacher, who wants to teach young people, and develop their Math and Science abilities. If you are looking for a unique educational challenge, are available in the evenings, and need to supplement your income, this job is perfect for you. Our programs offer both individual support and small-group class to students looking to improve their academic skills in Math and Science from Grades K-12. We are located on UBC campus and Vancouver City.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Working one-to-one and in a small group with students
- Creating/preparing materials to make the curriculum interesting and engaging
- Filing reports on the progress of students and tutoring sessions
- Seeking and responding to feedback from students and our staff

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Experience in teaching BC Chemistry 11-12 or/and BC Biology 11-12 is a must; experience in teaching AP/IB Chemistryor/and AP/IB Biology is strongly preferred
- Experience in tutoring high school maths, sciences (chemistry, biology, physics) is a must
- Willingness to work in person is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skill in English is a must
- Previous experience in working with high school students is preferred
- Ability to professionally interact with students
- Additional language(s) spoken is an asset (Mandarin, etc.)
- High school teaching experience is a plus

**BLUBC Specific Requirements**
- Had at least 1-year experience of tutoring high school maths and sciences (chemistry, biology, physics), familiar with BC curriculum/AP/IB system is preferred
- Be able to help students with their school assignments and to run Q&A sessions to answer students’ questions from school
- Be able to assign relevant homework practice to students after each class and to check them on time.
- Be able to provide assessments (either in a test format or written feedback) for students regularly
- Be able to communicate with BLUBC education consultants regularly regarding students’ performances
- Be able to follow the policies, regulations, and procedures of BLUBC
- Criminal Record Check
- 2 References

**Salary**: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
