Calgary, Canada DXP l IPS Full time

**DXP/IPS **is looking to hire a **BC registered Primary Care Paramedic (PCP)** for a client in BC. This is a cross shift position working 12 hour shifts, with a rotation of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off (typically).

**Location**: Fort Nelson
**Expected start date**:January 14
**Duration**:8 weeks
**Travel**: Flights between Edmonton/Calgary and worksite (on a 2:2 rotation) or Drive (on a 3:3 rotation). The medic is responsible for covering their own expenses to Edmonton or Calgary, with no reimbursement. They must also be comfortable with helicopter flights in the event of a medical emergency at the project site

**Essential Job Functions**:

- Medical standby in the field including but not limited to Drilling rigs, Service Rigs, Construction, Facilities and pipeline jobs.
- Medical assistance at accidents, emergencies and other related incidents, usually in an MTC.
- Understands and reviews IPS medical protocols
- Sign all onsite personnel In and Out of site and keep accurate records
- Client paperwork as requested
- Maintain Safety tickets records
- Maintain confidential patient medical documentation and reports as per legislation.
- Liaises with members of other emergency services, such as the police, fire brigade and other ambulance services to ensure the appropriate level of response is provided.
- Deals with members of the public/work site present at the scene.
- Drive to job site in a Mobile Treatment Center (MTC) in a safe manner allowing for road conditions.
- Cleans, decontaminates and checks vehicles and equipment to maintain a state of operational/medical readiness.
- Clean, inspect and fuel vehicle before leaving field office and cleaned upon return.
- Attend and sometimes facilitate daily safety meetings
- May be required to give safety or medical presentations
- Represent IPS in a courteous, positive, and professional manner Maintain professional image on job location

**Requirements/ Education**:

- Valid Active PCP Certification in BC
- OFA3 certification in BC
- H2S Alive
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- CPR - Health Care Provider (HCP) or Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Clean Class 5 (or equivalent) Driver’s License (non GDL)

**Other Skills/Abilities**:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Functional knowledge of computer operations, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Effectively organize and prioritize situations and activities ranging from urgent patient care issues to routine office and clinic duties
- Must be reliable, dependable and capable of working in a fast-paced team environment
- Able to travel via motor vehicle and air transport
