**Locations**: Bow Valley Provincial Park
The **Groundskeeper** is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and health of the campground’s grounds, with a strong focus on **lawn care and landscaping**. This role includes mowing, trimming, watering, weeding, and general upkeep of green spaces to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors. Additional responsibilities include assisting with minor maintenance tasks and general facility upkeep as needed.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Lawn & Landscape Maintenance (Primary Duties)**:
- Mow, trim, and edge grassy areas to maintain a well-groomed appearance.
- Water lawns, plants, and trees to promote healthy growth.
- Remove weeds, rake leaves, and clear debris from pathways and common areas.
- Maintain and prune trees, shrubs, and flower beds as required.
- Load and haul materials as needed for groundskeeping tasks.
**General Maintenance & Facility Upkeep (Secondary Duties)**:
- Perform routine inspections of campground facilities and grounds.
- Assist with minor repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work within a non-licensed scope.
- Ensure public areas, including picnic areas, washrooms, and campsites, remain clean and free of hazards.
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping tools and equipment.
- Report any safety concerns, hazards, or necessary repairs to the Campground Manager.
- Deliver wood to various campgrounds
- Assist in cleaning sites, vault toilets and comfort stations when necessary.
**Safety & Compliance**:
- Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, security issues, or any illegal activity within the campground.
- Complete daily work logs and incident reports as required.
**Key Qualifications**:
- **Experience in groundskeeping, lawn maintenance, or landscaping.**:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred or currently enrolled).
- Valid **Class 5 Driver’s License**.
- Current **First Aid Level 1**:
- **Criminal Record Check** (cost reimbursed; employment contingent on a clear record).
**Core Competencies**:
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Comfortable operating lawn equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Working Conditions**:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.
- Flexible work schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
