**Reporting to**: IFNA Clinical Manager

**Position Overview**:
The Assistant Program Manager of the Pediatric Care Team will provide oversight of day-to-day operations of the team. The Assistant Program Manager will be responsible for the programming of the interdisciplinary team at the direction of the IFNA Clinical Manager. The Assistant Program Manager will ensure that care is provided to clients and communities while upholding the mission, vision, and values of the IFNA health services department.

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Clinical Oversight**
- Oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of the paediatric program, ensuring that services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
- Provides leadership and supervision to a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, public health specialists, and support staff. Fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values cultural diversity and promotes professional development.
- Develops and implements clinical protocols, complying with regulatory standards.
- Provides coaching and mentoring to staff to ensure up-to-date practices and research are applied.
- Develops and implement training programs for healthcare staff to enhance their cultural competency, clinical skills, and knowledge of indigenous health issues.
- Establishes and monitors performance indicators and quality standards to ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality healthcare services. Conducts regular audits and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary. Monitors and evaluates the quality of care provided by the team, implementing continuous improvement.
- Maintains accuracy and confidentiality for client records (HIPAA guidelines compliant).
- Maintains up-to-date reports to supervisors, funders, and community leadership.

**2.** **Budgeting and Resource Management**
- Develops and monitors the departmental budget, ensuring efficient utilization of resources while maintaining financial sustainability.
- Identifies opportunities for program expansion based on community needs and available resources. Develops strategies for program sustainability, including diversifying funding sources, advocating for long-term support, and exploring innovative partnerships or revenue-generating activities.
- Procures necessary supplies and equipment.

**3.** **Professional Development**
- Stays updated on the latest developments in healthcare management, indigenous health, and relevant disciplines through continuing education, attending conferences, and participating in professional organizations.
- Stays updated on healthcare policies, guidelines, and regulations at local, regional, and national levels, and ensures that the organization's health programs align with these policies. Advocates for policy changes or adaptations that better serve the unique needs of the indigenous community.

**4.** **Program Evaluation**
- Evaluates effectiveness of programs using metrics, data and provides reporting.
- Identifies opportunities to improve and align to IFNA vision and mission.
- Develops, implements, and monitors the Pediatric Care Teams program projects.
- Establishes indicators and data collection methods to track progress and support evidence-based decision-making.

**5.** **Collaborative Partnerships**
- Partners with external organizations such as IFNA Health Service and, government agencies to meet needs of the community and identify gaps in services.
- Establishes partnerships with other organizations, agencies, and institutions to leverage resources, share expertise, and enhance program effectiveness. Fosters collaborations that support the integration of holistic, traditional healing practices with Western medicine where appropriate and desired by the community.

**6.** **Coverage**
- All employees who work at IFNA cover for each other during vacation, if someone is away sick or if there are demands on the organization that require extra time and effort to complete. This means occasionally they be asked to do tasks outside the normal scope of their position.

**Position Requirements**:

- Degree in a related field - Nursing, Health Services, Social Work or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation, with a focus on culturally sensitive healthcare delivery.
- Clear Background and Vulnerable Sector Check and proof of immunizations (or valid medical exemption)
- Experience managing and motivating a team.
- Highly organized and reliable.
- Strong conflict-resolution capabilities.
- Excellent leadership, management, and coordination skills.
- Highly self-motivated and willing to take initiative.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
- Experience in maintaining confidentiality (HIPAA compliant).
- Experience working with remote communities’ assets.
