Ottawa, Canada Teraflex Full time

The General Labourer is accountable for operating tools and equipment and providing any labour type functions on a construction project.
- Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment and remove all debris from work sites
- Excavate, backfill, install pipe, and compact earth using shovels, rakes and other tools
- Ability to operate small power tools (e.g. Tamper, cut saws, air compressors and generators)
- Have the dexterity to use hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, pliers, side cutters, etc.)
- Must be able to safely lift loads of 50 lbs.
- Must be well organized and be able to work well individually and as part of a team
- Must be able to pass criminal background check
- Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company

Other duties assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 high school or equivalent
- Valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence and an excellent driving record
- Previous Underground Construction experience
- Book 7 understanding or certificate is considered an asset

**Physical Demands**:
Must be able to perform the physical demands of the position’s work tasks.

These include but not limited to:

- Working outdoors and in confined spaces, movement of equipment and/or materials, frequent climbing and frequent lifting
- Attention to detail
- Will be required to stand for extended periods of time
- Work in extreme weather conditions (cold, heat, rain, snow, wind etc.)

**Salary**: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
