We have 4 Toronto camp locations, all conveniently accessible by TTC._ **About The Role** As Codezilla’s Camp Supervisor, your #1 job is to ensure that your camp team is delivering _**‘Safe, Active, Educational Fun’**_ everyday. You take responsibility for all campers, staff and parent interaction, to ensure that we consistently deliver an amazing camp experience for families. Our weekly highlight is the 'Family Friday Showcase', which you will lead and encourage all campers to show off the awesome work. **Roles and Responsibilities**: **1) Ensure camper safety and well-being** - Help supervise and ensure safety of 18-24 campers each week, for 7-9 weeks (varies by location). Campers are ages 5-14, in STEM or Coding camp. - Maintain a safe, calm, friendly and inclusive camp environment - Lead daily group gatherings (AM, PM) to promote social & mental well being - Ensure 3 daily outdoor breaks, with educational screen time when inside - Oversee beginning and end-of-day procedures (e.g. attendance, evaluations, incident reports, contacting parents and end of day reports) - Take ownership of camper and staff safety during an emergency procedure, and provide first aid or medical assistance as needed. **2) Oversee camp operations and programs** - Supervise your team of 2-3 Camp Instructors to ensure that Codezilla delivers Safe, Active, Educational Fun - Provide superior customer service by communicating & engaging with parents daily - Manage daily/weekly camp schedule, particularly the _Family Friday Showcase _ - Assist with initial camp set up and camp pack up (end of summer) - Observe and evaluate camp programming throughout summer, providing timely and actionable feedback to Camp Admins. - Manage camp facilities, equipment and supplies - Together with your camp team, ensure a clean, tidy & organized camp environment - Other duties as assigned, eg. share camp photos & camp videos **3) Act as a positive role model and leader for campers and staff** - Support your two Camp Instructors by providing coaching, problem-solving and mentoring - Motivate, inspire and assist campers and staff in achieving their best - Maintain a positive attitude and foster a sense of teamwork - Ensure a friendly and welcoming environment for all campers and staff **Requirements**: - MANDATORY: you must enjoy working with children and youth (We hire for Personality > STEM skills) - Must be 20+ years of age at the start of a program - Previous experience working in a camp setting (preferred) or with youth/children - Exceptionally friendly and outgoing, with a positive attitude, energy and enthusiasm for each day - Strong Leadership skills; you are respected by campers, staff and parents. - Ability to supervise a small team (collaborate, resolve conflict, mentor, provide feedback, etc.) - Responsible, organized and able to manage process/operations (e.g. punctual, balance time constraints, prioritize camp safety, customer service, etc.) - Ability to take charge of different types of situations or unexpected scenarios **Hiring Criteria** - Eligible to work under the **Canadian Summer Jobs grant**, ie. must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who is eligible to work in Canada, age 16-30. - Available for multiple interviews, including a STEM or Coding skills demonstration **Upon hire**: - A Criminal Background Check (with Vulnerable Sector Screening) is required for over 18 years of age - completion of First Aid training and special training on how to support kids' needs **Compensation & Job Details** - 100% onsite, 35 hours per week, hours vary between 8:30am-5:00pm - subsidized daily catered hot lunch (50% off, optional perk) - Weekly Bonus Potential ($50 week) - Remote work, paid training, special events and team building prior to the camp season **About Us** Codezilla has provided 'Educational Fun' coding and STEM workshops at 56+ schools for kids ages 5 - 14 since 2017.
