Registration Advisor

Reporting to the Manager, Registration, Transfers and Systems, the Registration Advisor plays an integral role in supporting the University’s mission by ensuring that efficient and appropriate services are provided to students and graduates, requiring extensive liaison with program staff, faculty, Admissions and Student Accounts. The Registration Advisor is responsible for interpreting academic regulations to the wider campus community, providing advice regarding program and individual student issues, monitoring students’ academic performance for compliance, and recommending changes to student status including withdrawals and leaves. Registration Advisors are also responsible for the Registrar’s web pages, preparing and administering the academic elements of convocation and assisting with the administration of institutional partnership agreements. The Registration Advisor plays a lead role in advising students and acts as the first point of contact on academic matters pertaining to registered students.
- Job Requirements
- College diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Three years administrative experience, preferably within a post-secondary environment
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures clearly and consistently for students and staff (instructors, program associates, Deans, and senior administrators)
- Strong customer service orientation when dealing with all internal or external clients (i.e., potential and current students, alumni, faculty, colleagues, etc.)
- Ability to deal with students, faculty, and program staff in stressful situations with tact and diplomacy
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Advanced computer skills using databases and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of website development and maintenance
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to make independent decisions and a proven ability to meet deadlines while handling multiple assignments
- Related experience within a post-secondary environment is highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills

- This is a regular, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. This position has been evaluated at MPT-A with a salary range of $64,409 (minimum) to $75,677 (midpoint) to $86,945 (maximum) per annum. Employment offers will normally be made between the minimum and midpoint of the range and are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
