**The Role**
- Review the company’s existing agreements and support the legal team’s effort in establishing a contract database;
- From time to time assist with drafting and reviewing of commercial agreements, including professional services, marketing partnerships, and business and SaaS agreements.
- Respond to legal requests, communicating legal concepts to the business teams in a manner that is easy to understand.
- Conduct research as needed and if needed prepare memoranda.
- Assist the legal team’s with special projects.
- Other duties as may be required.
**Please note that this is an Articling placement within an in-house legal department. The main areas of focus for this placement are contracts and commercial law.**
**Qualifications**
- Completion of a law degree (J.D. or equivalent)
- Registered in the Lawyer Licensing Process with the Law Society of Ontario
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Able to work productively and efficiently under pressure.
- Has great work ethic and ability to multi-task.
- Previous experience in a law firm or in house legal department is considered an asset.
