Established in 1999, Empack Spraytech Inc. is a leading aerosol manufacturer, liquid filler, and custom contract packager. Located in Brampton, Empack manufactures products for a wide range of markets including personal care, household goods, automotive, computer care, industrial and outdoors. We offer private label programs and produce a range of products under our house brands that include emzone, zytec Germ Buster, and SunZone.

**Research and Development (R&D) Chemist - Brampton, Ontario**

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, or a Health Canada recognized Science or Engineering related degree.
- Personal Care, Automotive Lubricants, Industrial Cleaners, Aerosols, or other related industry experience preferred.
- 2 years GMP/ISO environment lab work experience
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Exceptional problem solving, analytical, organizational and troubleshooting skills
- 2 plus years of work experience in a GMP regulated industry (Pharmaceutical, Food, Consumer product or Personal Care Product manufacturing setting in Technical or Production functions)
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Accuracy with a high attention-to-detail.
- Ability to multi-task in high-pressure environments
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel is required.

**What you will do**:

- Communicate with R&D Manager for product development sample preparation and testing status
- Investigate new materials or components for project requirements
- Assisting in the formulating and developing of the processes to manufacture products along with all required documentation
- Formulate actual products, and samples for both internal and customer evaluations - includes aerosol package preparation
- Coordinate with warehouse and/or operations for material and component supply needs
- Document the compounding process, sample preparation and sample lot retention recording
- Aid in evaluating projects for technical requirements of both the formulation, processing, and the QC requirements
- Conducting and documenting the testing of products, including the physical, chemical and comparison evaluations to an established target or existing brand
- Assist in developing product and material specifications for hand off to QC
- Coordinate with Operations and Regulatory for Product’s Master Formula and Specifications creation, recording and approval process
- Coordinate overall product stability program with R&D Manager and Regulatory
- Prioritize tasks among samples for production, R&D and stability studies
- Assist and/or initiate in complaint, deviation and non-conformance investigations

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
