Located in the picturesque town of St. Jacobs, Heidelberg Foods Ltd. specializes in premium quality, great tasting, shelf stable meat products and meat snacks. We operate out of a state-of-the-art BRC Global Standard certified, federally registered, CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) regulated meat processing facility with additional facilities available in the Kitchener/Waterloo region to support expansion in Canada and internationally. All products are naturally wood smoked and made from the finest quality meats and spices, with no fillers. Our Noah Martin Country Store brand and private label customers' brands are enjoyed nationally and can be found at many chain grocery stores, delicatessens and independents.

**YOUR JOB**:
**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIIES**:

- Produce accurate and timely annual and quarterly financial statements, ensuring compliance with Canadian GAAP.
- Prepare annual Canadian corporate tax returns.
- Produce comprehensive business analyses, identifying trends in sales, margins and expenses, providing explanations on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Establish proper variance analysis processes, including the assessment of operating results and communicate potential problems to senior management team
- Oversee monthly GL close. Review statements and accounts before closing books and issuing results.
- Co-ordinate with the Accounting Manager regarding month end processes, provide guidance on accounting policies and procedures, assist with process resolution for unusual transactions, assign projects.
- Liaise with the company’s bank and provide monthly, quarterly, annual reporting as required.
- Coordinate planning activities, setting up timeline and communicating it along with deliverables to all related parties.
- Ensure the accuracy of monthly cash and sales forecasts.
- Collect financial data and other information required to produce accurate annual projections including capital allocations.
- Oversee staffing requirements and employee development to meet departmental needs for accounting and purchasing staff.
- Support the sales team by providing financial analysis as required.
- Prepare product costing calculations annually based on then current costs and cost expectations. Use the product costing calculations to prepare product pricing proposals.
- Assist in HR functions including hiring, payroll, benefits administration, training, annual increase proposal development and joint health and safety committee.

**YOUR QUALIFICATIONS**
- CPA
- At least 10 years of related experience
- Experience within a Manufacturing industry; preferably food manufacturing
- Experience with smaller to mid sized companies
- Experience with Traverse ERP system is an asset

**Salary**: $125K to $150K ; to be discussed based on experience
