**ABOUT THE COMPANY**

**POSITION OVERVIEW**
Reporting to the CP&D Manager, the Research Associate will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of research projects and experiments under the CP&D department. This will include, but is not limited to, experimental design and techniques, data analysis, and report writing.
**1.**
We are looking for motivated aspiring scientists to join our team of researchers currently working on the development of diagnostic assays for diseases. This position requires a strong in vitro research background in biomarker development (e.g., high throughput proteomics/NGS, ELISA, qPCR and column chromatography). Applicants must have a keen interest in diagnostic assay development, have strong problem-solving skills, and be able to work in a team environment with cross-discipline scientists.
**2.** **Key Responsibilities**
- Conducts experiments following established methods
- Applies knowledge of scientific methodologies, techniques, processes and procedures in conducting experiments
- Documents all data and interprets results independently
- Presents experimental results to the team and explains reasons for variances
- Troubleshoots methods and suggests novel and impactful improvements
- Maintains lab and performs routine duties in order to keep laboratory clean, neat and in efficient operational order
- Conducts all activities in accordance with scientific standards, and established policies and practices
- Collaborate with team members on other CP&D team projects
- Demonstrates effective and collaborative working relationships with fellow employees and management
- Contribute to project discussions and brainstorming sessions
- Perform other duties as required
**3.** **Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- Requires a M.Sc. in scientific discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology), and at least 2 years of lab experience in related field
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, be able to work effectively and productively with others
- High quality standards and ownership of work
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to think critically and trouble shoot issues that arise
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with animal handling and procedures, tumor model establishment, and end of study sample collection are an asset
- Proficiency in performing lab techniques and methods which may include: cell culture, ELISA, HPLC, flow cytometry, cell sorting, Western Blotting, protein purification, antibody and/or protein conjugation assays, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemical staining, microscopy, qPCR, microplate assays and others
