Under the Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Manager, the Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting the service standards and audits continuous quality improvement and supporting plans to meet quality assurance objectives and key performance indicators.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Interpret, build upon, and comply with company quality assurance standards.
- Compare manufactured product to specifications - visual and dimensional layouts.
- Responsible for conducting first-off inspections and calibrations.
- Participation in Internal Quality Audits as required.
- Participation in development and monitoring of process controls as required.
- Involvement in a variety of projects related to quality and continual improvement.
- Carefully maintain complaint and nonconformance processing through records and tracking systems, including root cause and corrective actions.
- Document quality assurance activities with internal reporting and audits.
- Identify training needs and take action to ensure company-wide compliance.

**Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge**:

- Diploma in quality assurance, engineering or relevant experience.
- Must be available to work any shift, midnights, afternoons or days.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Strong communication skills with management, co-workers, and production.
- Manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Proficient at reading blue prints
- Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, an optical comparator (shadowgraph), pin gauges and go / no go gauges, vision measurement system
- Knowledgeable about quality principles and methodologies including metrology and problem solving
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word

- Manufacturing: 2 years (preferred)
- Blueprint reading: 1 year (preferred)
- GD&T: 1 year (preferred)
- Quality Auditing: 1 year (preferred)
