New employees must provide documentation/proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status, a 2-step TB screening, as well as proof of immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox) prior to their start date at St. Mary’s General Hospital. Staff will require clearance from Employee Health and Wellness before they are able to begin any position within SMGH.

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director, Strategy, Innovation and Communications, the Innovation Lead will support achievement of our new strategic plan, Inspiring Excellence. Healthier Together 2021. The Innovation Lead will help the organization to embrace new ways to innovate health care, specifically by establishing the foundations for collaboration in innovation with local hospital, academic and non-health partners.

In addition to helping to form the local Innovation Collaborative, the Innovation Lead will represent SMGH at regional and provincial Innovation networks and tables, creating, identifying, and seizing opportunities to improve care delivery within the hospital and health system. The Innovation Lead is an idea finder and manager, innovation scout, strategist, and a project and fund manager.

Clinical management will also be added as a part of this role, and as a result the successful applicant is required to be a Regulated Health Professional. The Clinical Program manager will be a self-directed and results-oriented individual with a collaborative leadership style. The Program Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the human, fiscal, and materials resources required to meet the patient needs for the Program.

As a leader, the Program Manager provides, facilitates, and promotes the best professional service to the patients and employees of the department, the organization and the community we serve.

Currently, the requirements are for leadership for the respiratory therapy program and airways clinic, but clinical management role may vary based on operational needs.

Participation in the clinical on-call rotation is expected.

**Position Requirements**:

- Successful completion of an Undergraduate Degree in a related field such as but not limited to B.Sc., B.HSc., BScN.
- Regulated health professional in good standing within their regulatory college, with minimum five (5) years of clinical practice experience
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of recent, successful management and leadership experience in a clinical setting
- Experience with business case development, return on investment business plan modeling
- Successfully able to perform their function in accordance with prescribed standards that focuses on the priority of People Safety and the delivery of the highest standard of Quality Care.
- Previous experience navigating and using Meditech, hospital information systems (HIS) or electronic medical records (EMR), workforce management tools, and other healthcare program software
- Proven competency working with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Demonstrate the physical and mental capabilities necessary for proper and efficient performance of the essential duties of the position.

**Preferred Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 year’s healthcare-related experience
- Experience in technology and innovation sector
- Experience working within the legislative requirements for various procurement models including capital purchases, consumable product purchases, service agreements, as a lone organization or in partnership with our various procurement partners and memberships
- Led or played a significant leadership role in the various steps of procurement planning including but not limited to Requests For Purchase, Requests for Information, Requests for expression of interest, etc
- Experience or understanding on the basic operations and integration of the various HIS, EMR, and other information-technology related infrastructure
- Project management experience
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health care system in Ontario and Canada.
- Experience in managing professionals and providing guidance in areas of problem solving and conflict resolution.
