Ecologist

*Overview*

We are seeking a dedicated Ecologist proficient in plant and bird identification to join our team. If you have a passion for environmental conservation and a strong background in ecological research, we want to hear from you.

*Responsibilities*
- Conduct species
- and habitat-specific studies to gain a deeper understanding of natural heritage and environmental conditions.
- Input and analyze data collected from fieldwork
- Utilize GIS software to map and analyze spatial data
- Collaborate with team members to enter data and prepare reports
- Use programming such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, QGIS and Adobe

*Skills*
- Preferred experience in conducting vasulcar plant inventories, ecological land classification and breeding bird surveys
- Preferred provincially certified wetland evaluator
- Preferred experience with GIS software
- Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, QGIS and Adobe

*Certifications/Training Completed*
- Ecological Land Classification
- Ontario Wetland Evaluation System
- Herpetofauna Identification and Safe Handling
- Class 2 Backpack Electrofishing
- Ontario Stream Assessment Protocol
- ISA Certified Arborist
- First Aid and CPR Class A
- Ontario Fish Identification
- Drivers License
