Lead Carpenter- Foreman

As part of our construction division, our carpentry teams work to construct our fences, decks, gazebos, sunrooms and pool houses. Our carpenters are able to work on a wide variety of structures, in a year round capacity.

We currently have multiple lead and skilled/apprentice carpentry positions available. These team members will work closely with our Carpentry and Construction Managers on a day to day basis. This is a full time year round position.

Job Role:
To lead and/or assist a carpentry team in the construction of fences, decks, gazebos, sunrooms and pool houses.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Access to reliable transportation to our shop located in St.Andrews, MB, or direct to your job site
- Ability to stand and work with your hands for long periods of time
- Have red seal certification / minimum of level 2 in carpentry, or 10+ years experience
- Ability to listen to and follow instruction from a direct supervisor
- Comfortable with working in dusty, hot, wet and/or cold temperatures
- Comfortable working weekends if schedule permits
- Own hand tools relate to the trade
- Valid Class 5 License

Daily Tasks Include:

- Form, pour and finish structural concrete such as thickened edge slabs, grade beams, piles
- Frame and erect walls and support structures
- Install building envelope products and exterior finishes
- Install windows and doors
- Frame decking and finish with treated or composite decking
- Stand and fasten ornamental structures such as pergolas or gazebos
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Perform beginning of day and end of day routine tasks to optimize efficiency

**Required Skills**:

- Communications skills required to work with lead carpenters or project managers
- Ability to work alone and/or unsupervised for extended periods of time
- Communicate by receiving and providing direction to fellow team members
- Help lead younger or inexperienced employees in completion of routine tasks on site, or take direction from experienced staff on site
- Ability to use hand tools, battery tools, and air tools as they relate to the trade
- Read and understand construction drawings
- Carpentry skills req. to complete high end structures and features within a residential setting
- Use cloud based software to track hours on site appropriately, and document any deficiencies

Length of Employment:

- Full time

Expected Hours:

- Monday to Friday
- Weather and schedule may require some Saturday work.
- 8 - 10 hours per day

Compensation:

- Starting wage of $26-$36/hr based on experience and skill set
- Paid Overtime
