Position Overview:
Responsible for the disassembly, assembly, inspection, and testing of front struts, rear struts, and hoist cylinders.

Job Description:

- Disassemble components, accurately complete the associated inspection, and assemble components in compliance with required specifications
- Identify the required scope of repairs, parts, and remanufacturing process
- Demonstrate proficient use of micrometers and other measuring devices
- Perform, and document, final inspection and function test results
- Analyze the cause of cylinder failures and prepare supporting documentation for failure analysis technicians
- Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of production equipment used in the department in accordance with equipment maintenance log
- Operate in compliance with ISO 9001:2000 policy and procedures; report non-conformances to the Production Manager
- Attend internal or external training sessions as required

Qualifications:

- A minimum of 6 months working in Wage Grade 3 or higher. Relevant & applicable external experience to the position will alternatively be considered. (Internal applicants)
- Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C. (Internal applicants)
- Previous experience with hydraulic cylinders is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructions.
- Ability to work unsupervised efficiently and be part of a team environment.
- Competency in a machine shop environment is preferred.
- Previous experience in a heavy-duty equipment facility is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively.
- Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds.
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator.

Note:

- This posting is for a static weekend shift scheduled Friday - Sunday - 12 hours per day
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
- Hourly Rate: $31.93 - $48.41 / Hour

Union Membership: This is a unionized position. Terms of employment are governed by a collective agreement.
