**THERAPEUTIC RECREATIONIST - Hogarth Riverview Manor**

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

**St. Joseph's Care Group (SJCG) in Thunder Bay,** **Ontario is seeking Therapeutic Recreationists** to join our team at our Hogarth Riverview Manor Homes. A variety of permanent part-time and temporary full time & part time positions are available.

As a member the interprofessional care team, Therapeutic Recreationists work closely with the nursing team to ensure the highest quality of service for the residents.

**Education/Experience**:

- Degree/diploma in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies with Therapeutic Recreation course content (Therapeutic Recreation specialization)
- Experience in Therapeutic Recreation programming as it relates to programs offered in long term care settings

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to resident centered care
- Ability to work as part of a team and also independently, with mínimal supervision

**Assets**:

- Training in Gentle Persuasive Approach and/or Montessori is an asset
- Professional member in good standing with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO)
- Membership with the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association or similar related associations

**CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT**
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
